DCAT

The Diversity Capability Assessment Tool (© Global Diversity Services) is a statistically validated and reliable online tool which measures individual and group competency to manage diversity in the workplace.

It is designed to raise awareness and develop capacity to work effectively with diverse colleagues. The Diversity Capability Assessment Tool (DCAT) prepares managers and employees through a process of introspection to see beyond differences, work more successfully with people who are different, make others feel they are valued members of the group, and learn to adapt behaviour to better communicate and solve problems with diverse colleagues.

The Diversity Capability Assessment Tool will build teams and organisations better able to value, manage and leverage difference; enhance employee morale and retention; improve service delivery and customer satisfaction; and encourage more innovative problem-solving.

The Methodology

Self-assessments are conducted online, followed by the provision of personal reports by Diversity Consulting.

The Diversity Capability Assessment Tool builds on the well-known Head, Heart and Hands (H3) model. Competencies are self-evaluated in three categories while scores are calculated for these three categories and across the three dimensions of Self, Others and the World.

DCAT Matrix

Based on the scores, developmental strategies and personal action plans are recommended for the nine category combinations listed in the DCAT Matrix, enabling individuals to embark on building their diversity capabilities.

Group/Team profiles on Diversity Capability are also generated, enabling individuals, teams and organisations to benchmark their level of diversity capability and identify opportunities for personal and professional development.

Diversity coaching by Diversity Consulting will provide hands-on developmental guidance to leaders who have used the DCAT and are working towards role-modelling excellence in managing diversity.
