Values and Ethics Challenge



Diversity Consulting’s extraordinarily successful Diversity Challenge has been adapted into a new tool focusing on Business Ethics and Company Values.
The Values and Ethics Challenge, employing an engaging competitive debate format, teaches techniques to solve ethical issues in everyday working life, educates how a company’s values should be applied to real-world situations and audits leaders & employees’ opinions regarding ethical issues in the workplace.

Research shows that executives and employees rely far too heavily on their intuition, rather than incorporating ethical reflection and analysis into their decision making process. The Values and Ethics Challenge provides your organisation with the means to develop a culture of ethics as well as building individual skills and decision making abilities.

The VEC's engaging training approach will improve executives’ and employees’ ethical intelligence by challenging their instinctive thinking and enabling them to constructively discuss and analyse the true impact of their decisions. At the same time it performs a cultural audit function, measuring attitudes and perceptions around key ethical issues and identifying gaps between policy and practice.

Process:

  • Either through an animated pre-workshop online presentation, or a brief facilitatr-led discussion, praticipants are introduced to some basic concepts regarding ethics, values and ethical decision making.
  • During the Values and Ethics Challenge workshop, teams compete in a relaxed and fun environment to debate the ethical course of action in a diverse range of realistic workplace scenarios, and consider how their personal and organisational values apply.
  • Participants are challenged to be flexible and objective in their thinking, developing new approaches to complex dilemmas.
  • Sessions are conducted by experienced business ethics facilitators.
  • Using Live Audience Response Remotes, allowing for anonymity, participants’ opinions regarding ethical issues in their workplace are measured. This data is collated in a post workshop report for management consideration
